MITx MicroMasters® Program in Supply Chain Management

This program is for people who want serious analytical training in how goods, information, and money move through a supply chain. It suits professionals who already work in or alongside supply chains who want to back their day-to-day decisions with stronger quantitative methods. It also works for people changing careers into the field, or anyone aiming for senior roles that require seeing how demand planning, stocking levels, shipping, and facility networks affect one another. Because the coursework draws on examples from industries like healthcare, sports, finance, and sustainability, you don't need to come from a traditional logistics background. The program is also a good fit for learners who want to study on their own schedule alongside a full-time job.

There are no prerequisites to the initial five courses; however, however, in order to be eligible to take the Supply Chain Comprehensive Exam, must have successfully completed all five courses in the MITx MicroMasters Program in Supply Chain Management and earned a certificate in each course:

2. Supply Chain Fundamentals (SC1x)
3. Supply Chain Design (SC2x)
4. Supply Chain Dynamics (SC3x)
5. Supply Chain Technology and Systems (SC4x)

The MicroMasters Program in Supply Chain Management is a graduate-level curriculum that combines rigorous academic content with practical applications and prepares learners for strategic roles that leverage data, models, and technology to make better decisions across forecasting, inventory management, transportation, network design, and supply chain systems. Course content is tied to current professional challenges, and due to the rigorous nature of courses, a MicroMasters credential is a demonstrated achievement you can use with employers to show your expertise. MicroMasters programs serve as both a pathway to a full master’s degree and as a standalone credential.

In your day-to-day, this program will help you:

• Make data-driven decisions. Apply probability, statistics, and optimization to real supply chain problems. Handle operational trade-offs. Balance forecasting, inventory, and transportation decisions.
• Design networks. Design and evaluate supply chain networks, along with financial and information flows.
• Think in systems. Understand how supply chains behave as interconnected, dynamic systems.
• See the full picture. Build an end-to-end understanding that supports moves into broader planning, operations, or leadership roles.
• Earn credentials. Get an MIT Open Learning certificate at each stage and a program credential on completion. For graduate study, the credential can count toward some full master's programs.

This program contains five courses, plus the Supply Chain Comprehensive Exam. The initial five courses each run for 13 weeks, and the Comprehensive Exam runs for three weeks. See here for the annual course run schedule.

The weekly time commitment estimates for each course are below:

• Supply Chain Analytics: 6-10 hours/week
• Supply Chain Fundamentals: 8-12 hours/week
• Supply Chain Design: 8-12 hours/week
• Supply Chain Dynamics: 6-10 hours/week
• Supply Chain Technology and Systems: 6-10 hours/week
• Supply Chain Comprehensive Exam: 3-6 hours/week
  

Courses are pre-recorded, and lessons are released according to a calendar specific to each course. The calendar will be posted at the beginning of each course. Students can work through the course content on their own schedule after it has been released. Please note some assignments have strict deadlines and work will not be accepted after that deadline.

Additionally, each course has in-course discussion forums where you can engage in discussions with peers and ask questions to the teaching assistant (TA) team.

This program is equivalent to one semester’s graduate-level coursework at MIT, and completing this program makes you eligible to apply to master's programs at MIT and at universities around the world (and MIT is actively working to expand the list of credit pathway institutions for MicroMasters Program Credentials!).

You will also receive a verified certificate for each course you successfully complete, plus a program certificate upon completing the full program.

Each course offers a free audit track to give you the opportunity to explore the course content. The audit track includes access to course materials and the first four graded assessments in each course, but does not include verified certificates or the ability to pursue a full masters program.

The paid, certified track of each course comes with access to all course materials, graded assignments and exams, plus the MIT Open Learning certificate of completion (one per course, plus one for the full program). Additionally, the paid track allows you to apply for a full masters program.

You do not need to purchase the full program, and can instead purchase each course individually. However, the bundled program purchase is the best value, as it includes all five courses plus the comprehensive exam for $1524.60 ($169.40 in savings compared to purchasing courses individually).
